TSTR WEEK #90–‘WINTER PICNIC’

Hello to all my sweet friends! Today, I will get right to my card. It is being entered in The Shabby Tea Room’s Week #90 – ‘Winter Picnic’ and Mojo Monday 217.

Here is my card….

TSTR 90

…..and here are the inspiration photo and sketch:

Personally, I love that inspiration photo and the MM sketch is awesome! I was so happy I had a chance to make a card for these challenges.  Of course, no picnic is complete without flowers, so there are flowers on my card Smile.

TSTR 90_2

Of course, the photo had snow, so I included snow on my card; from the snowflake stitch on the ribbon to the stenciled snowflakes on the background and the cut out snowflakes at the bow, this card has snow.

TSTR 90_3

Oh yeah, I forgot! The bells have Liquid Pearls While Opal on them to resemble snow and even the rhinestones are called snowflake LOL.

TSTR 90_4

The snowflakes and sentiment are from Rubber Stamp Tapestry’s Merry Christmas peg and Winter Night Sky stamp set.

TSTR 90_5

The bottom panel is made from a silver metallic paper to represent the hardware in the photo.  The strip at the top of the panel is a white and silver glittery paper that I just love.  I could only find a scrap to use on this card lol.

Complete instructions are listed below, so if you want all the details, please scroll down.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my card today and will leave comments before you leave! Thanks for stopping by….

Inkspirations Challenge #97

Hi sweet friends! I am so happy it is the Christmas season because it is my most favorite time of the year.  I know, it is busy; it seems like there is something to do all the time, but have you ever noticed how nice people are this time of year?  Really, so many people are helpful and smiling I always wonder why people cannot act this way all the time.
One of my daily goals is to make someone smile. I don’t care who, or where, or why but someone needs to smile for me.  I especially love checking out at the grocery store, and you know, the cashiers are usually so busy and only thinking of getting your groceries checked and bagged, or they are just grumpy in general.  It makes my day to get that cashier to smile before I leave!  And the sad thing is, they seem truly surprised to be treated kindly…. oh well, enough blah blah and on to my card!!
This card is for the Inspirations sketch challenge #97….
Inkspirations #97
…. and it is based on this sketch…

Inkspirations #97_2

MAKE MY MONDAY WEEK 25

Wow! Happy Thanksgiving to all of my wonderful friends. I love Thanksgiving because it is the beginning of the Christmas season. I am eager to get my Christmas tree up but my ankle is demanding that I wait a little longer.

Today, I am checking out a new challenge for me: Make My Monday week 25 where the challenge is to use snowflakes, flowers or foliage.  Here is my take on the challenge

PeaceBells

I just love this card! The colors worked out perfectly and I had a chance to use my new concentric circles and squares from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. I am sure I will be using these a lot because they were a ton of fun to work with and they are so versatile.  I also used RST’s Holiday Bells and Bows , Berry Branch Border , Zig Zag Ornament Peg Stamp - Mini (Embellished Holiday Wreath) , Zig Zag Ornament Peg Stamp - Tiny (Embellished Holiday Wreath) , Ribbon Curls Peg Stamp - Mini (Christmas Garland) and "Peace" (Cursive) Stamp – Mini

PeaceBells3

The lower panel was embossed with snowflakes and then I added Ranger’s White Opal Perfect Pearls to make the snowflakes stand out.  The Perfect Pearls worked out great for this. They really added a snowy touch to the card.

PeaceBells2

It is always hard for me to come up with which card is my favorite, but this one is in the running. Well, the Thanksgiving Day parade is over and I am going to start cooking. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!

Complete instructions are listed below, so if you want all the details, please scroll down.

I hope you like my card and will leave comments before you leave! Thanks for stopping by….

THE SHABBY TEA ROOM TSTR WEEK 89

Happy Wednesday girlies!!! Are you all ready for the big day tomorrow? I know I am looking forward to a nice quiet Thanksgiving with my hubby and son. The only thing that would make it perfect would be having my daughter and son-in-law here. Oh well, I am still thankful for what I do have and I plan to watch the Christmas parade, check out some movies, enjoy some cooking and my family.  What will your day be like?
I love making Christmas cards; in fact, I never get tired of Christmas! I was so happy to see that I could do a Christmas card for The Shabby Tea Room’s challenge for week 89: Colors of Nature…and here is my card:
BelieveNoel
…that is inspired by the colors in this photo:

There are so many fun things happening on this card!  First, the crochet trim is a piece that I crocheted for this card and ran a red ribbon through it.  The papers are from MME Lost & Found Christmas.  I adore seam binding for my bows, and that is what seemed to fit this card to a T.
BelieveNoel2
I wove that pretty little wreath using green satin ribbon and added a tag stamped with  Rubber Stamp Tapestry’s "Believe" (Print) Stamp – Mini. The  RST Noel (Noel Set) block stamp is embellished with their Cardinal Resting in Holly Set.
So why do I love Christmas so much? Well, to me it means peace, love, family, joy, and friends. What is better than being with family and friends?  I just hope the weather will be colder for Christmas. These warm days are making it hard to realize Christmas is just around the corner.
I have more Christmas cards coming your way so please feel free to let me know what you think of this one and check back for more!
Complete instructions are listed below, so if you want all the details, please scroll down.

I hope you like my card and will leave comments before you leave! Thanks for stopping by….
